An adventurous school break at Berg’s Farm

What are you doing on your school break? I’m going with my mom, dad, and younger sister to Berg’s Farm. We are going to ride mountain bikes, stay the night, and climb. Play football, hike a bit, and maybe fish in a lake. Want to come?

Berg’s Farm & MTB Arena is located about an hour south of Stockholm. With sustainability in focus, owners Magnus and Frida Jonsson have carefully created a small Sörmland oasis, with lodging, food, and activities. The farm has been in the family for six generations and is one of the oldest farms in this part of Södermanland Province.

Today, the farm has evolved into a place for movement and experiences in a scenic and rural setting. With focus on local products and sustainability. The farm’s animals are outside all year round, feasting on grass and herbs in the pastures and taking cover as they please.

Centre for MTB and forest cycling

Frida and Magnus Jonsson want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to get out into Sörmland nature for new experiences and adventures. With that in mind, they have built several challenging and fun trails for mountain biking in the nearby Sörmland forest. 28 kilometres of trails and loops await in the forest. They’re designed by professional cyclists and are of varying difficulty.

You’ll find a larger technical area with various landscaped tracks as well as a downhill area. Although the downhill area is rather small for now.

Forest walk with a wheelchair

For the younger children and the inexperienced, there is a pump track. If you don’t own a bicycle, you can always rent one. Easy and convenient if you want to experience nature with more speed and adventure.
The landscaped 1-kilometre nature trail Ekhagen, which starts from the farm, is accessible even with a stroller or a wheelchair. A great opportunity for those who can’t always get out into nature. Several hiking packages starting from nearby Sörmlandsleden Trail are offered as well.

Rural accommodation for rent

In the barn, you can climb the climbing wall or visit with one of the many adorable farm animals. But it doesn’t end there. The lodge also has a ping-pong table and pool table for guests to use. Challenge your family to a football game, or a jumping contest on the trampoline. Peek into the farm flea market and see what fun you can find.

Here you can stay in country-style rooms and really get as much out of your stay as possible. You have plenty of fun and exciting activities for both young and old to choose from. And with access to both a spa tub and a sauna, your whole body is in for a treat. Perfect for those sore muscles after a full day of cycling.

Princess Sofia’s hidden gem

When you get hungry, you have several options. The farm kitchen serves meat from the farm’s own natural pastures and local ingredients from other Sörmland suppliers. The cute little café has lots of homemade treats, and in the farm shop, you can buy nearly anything. Obviously, it’s all organic and locally produced!

On school breaks, additional events are organised, such as treasure hunts and other outdoor activities for the whole family. Prince Carl-Philip and Princess Sofia named Berg’s Farm a Sörmland hidden gem, and we couldn’t agree more. It’s simply impossible not to name Berg’s Farm our new favourite spot!
